It’s official! Steigerwald Photo Group has merged with VAS as of May 2026. Who are we and what do we do? We are Ken Pitts and Beth Marlin Lichter and together, are co-admins of this wildlife photography organization with over 500 members on Facebook. Our members range from birders who use mobile phones, to photographers with professional equipment. Some of us are strictly backyard birders. Some of us are continually striving for that iconic shot of bucket-list birds in exotic places. The common thread is our desire to document and share a passion for wild places and wild things. On our Facebook platform, we post photos and share knowledge continuously, culminating in a virtual online meeting taking place last Sunday of each month.

View the Steigerwald Photo Group Facebook page. We have a lot to communicate about the vitality and beauty of the natural world and that is where we post links for upcoming events such as virtual meetings. If you find our content educational, inspirational, joyful, art-infused or all of the above, become a member and join us as we celebrate and explore nature through the art and craft of photography.

Our members write articles for the VAS newsletter Columbia Flyway and for the VAS Blog. We go birding together and are learning together. We practice community outreach. Thank you, Vancouver Audubon, for taking us under your wing.
