Lacamas Regional Park–Round Lake

This popular park includes over 300 acres of dense woods, Round Lake, Lacamas Creek, and with approximately 9 scenic miles of trails. In April, the camas are blooming, often covering the upper plateau. Take the trail through the main park southeast to view Round Lake, cross the dam (check for American Dippers!) to follow the trail system to visit the wonderful variety of habitats. There are several areas of wet, mature coniferous forest, oak woodland, riparian, and open rocky meadow.

  • An excellent location for a variety of owls, warblers, vireos, osprey, flycatchers, woodpeckers, chickadees, Bushtits, swallows, finches and ducks. eBird hotspots : Lacamas Park (entire park), Round Lake/Lacamas Park

Best seasons/weather/water levels to visit:  Both spring and fall migration can be excellent, spring has many singing and nesting birds, summer will be quieter, but can have good viewing.

Handicap accessible restrooms available in the developed park, picnic tables, fishing along the shore of the Round Lake, children playground equipment and handicap accessible trail only in the developed park.  Remaining trails are nice for hiking and birding but gravel surface and are steep in some areas.
